“Where Are All the Black People?” is a combination of a call to action and a resource for diverse individuals to be introduced to the advertising industry, network, showcase their talents, and hear the stories of some of the top diverse creatives in the industry. The one-day event includes testimonials from top creatives of multicultural backgrounds, workshops on how to best position yourself for the job market, portfolio reviews, and sessions with agency recruiters.
Next year, Simon & Schuster will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ray Bradbury’s classic dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451. Simon & Schuster is launching a contest to redesign the iconic book jacket. The winning design will be used for the first print run of the anniversary edition in the spring of 2013, and the designer will be awarded $1,500. The design may also be used on in-store displays and other promotions both physical and online. All rules and guidelines on the contest Tumblr site.
